          Follow Karri's Story

Jacky approached Karri with an idea: to have a client tell her story on Jacky's website to help inspire others. Here is Karri's response:

"I would be happy to do this. If I do this I would prefer to have my name and face posted. I am sure you are shocked to hear that, but I need to face this head on. If I have my face blocked out or my name hidden it just gives me another reason to quit. I certainly am embarressed of how I have let myself go, but I know when I get all the weight off I will be so proud and it will make up for how bad I feel about myself right now. I really need to be held accountable right now, regardless of what is going on in my life."

Jacky's Plan For Karri:

Karri has the following equipment in her home:

  • 10 and 5 lb free weights
  • resistance bands
  • fitness ball
  • an elliptical machine (from Costco, costing about $700)
  • Jacky's workout dvds

Karri will meet with Jacky once per week for an in-home personal training session. At each meeting, Jacky will instruct Karri what to do during the week until they meet again. This includes times when Karri travels, which is somewhat frequent with her job. 

Update 4/13/09:

Karri's update: "Time to make exercise and eating healthy my top priority. No more excuses! After receiving my lab results from my doctor I realized that if I do not embrace a healthy life style that I am headed down the path toward heart disease and diabetes. I am now ready to fight for my life. I am sick and tired of having no energy and feeling ill. I have two precious grand kids to keep me focused. I have started to use my elliptical 20 minutes everyday in addition to using Jacky's DVD's. After working out with Jacky I find that the brain fog is lifted and my head clears and I do not feel as stressed. Jacky's workouts are easy to follow and fun. I know that if I can do this.... anybody can!!"

Update 4/17/09:
Today Jacky decided Karri was ready to be "promoted" from Level 2 of Flourish Flexion and Myosin Motion (her workout dvds) to Level 3! Congratulations, Karri! Progress already -- you're getting stronger!
Update 5/1/09:
Jacky and Karri did measurements again today for Karri's one-month follow-up. Her waist measurement today was 35.75-- exactly two inches less than a month ago! Her body fat percentage today is 36.2%, which translates into a loss of about 11 pounds of fat since her first day. Great job, Karri! You are working hard, and you deserve these great results!
Update 5/11/09:
Today Karri weighed in at 170.6 lbs! That is almost 11 lbs less than the day she started, which is about 5 weeks ago! Plus, Karri was out of town for a week and just got back home the day before weigh-in. She packed her resistance bands and door anchor in her suitcase, and did a workout in her hotel room while she was away. I'm so proud of you, Karri! Keep it up!
Update 8/2/09:
Karri is currently down to 164 lbs. She is continuing to exercise consistently, eat better, and lose weight the healthy way. Just about to 20 lbs of weight loss right now! Plus, Karri reported that her cholesterol is now 180, and glucose is 90. What a difference! Great job, Karri! We will measure body fat and circumferences the next time we meet, so we'll report those soon!
